Old aviation training films and videos from military and FAA resources. If you learned to fly in the sixties and seventies you've no doubt seen some of these in ground school or at seminars. I'm a retired professional pilot and my resume lists, among other things, a tour of duty as the chief flight instructor for Spartan School of Aeronautics and FAA DPE back in the seventies. It was at this time I became familiar with the world of 16mm aviation training films. Many of the films I've posted are digital conversions of homemade VHS tapes I made of movies borrowed from the Tulsa GADO. (General Aviation District Office, forerunner of today's FSDO) This is why some of them flicker and are of mediocre quality. But where else will you see the likes of the Navy's take on gyro instruments or the Army's version of ADF navigation? I hope you enjoy these old gems, and thanks for watching.
