Let’s start by getting rid of that old cliche: “speak like a native.” The real objective, whether you’re speaking English or your mother tongue, is to speak like YOURSELF. Forget sounding “perfect.” English fluency means you make the jokes you want to make and tell stories the way you want to tell them. Without that, you feel like half the person you are in your first language.
