The Annie Awards are the highest honor given for excellence in animation. Each year, Annie Award trophies are awarded for the year's best feature film, video, television program, short subject, games, commercials, as well as individual achievements in directing, writing, editing, character design, and many other disciplines. ASIFA-Hollywood, a non-profit organization in Los Angeles, California, USA, is a branch member of the "Association Internationale du Film d'Animation" or "ASIFA" (the International Animated Film Association). Its purpose is to promote the art of film animation in a variety of ways, including its own archive and an annual awards presentation, the Annie Awards.
