Each project produced here is the result of a passion. Passion for the material being used, the process through which it is made, or even better yet... a combination of the two. I've been a crafter for as long as I can remember. My mother taught me to sew at the ripe young age of 4, and there was hardly a weekend I wasn't playing in the sawdust coating the floor of my fathers workshop. Making something from nothing is simply in my genes. The name Katchi Vatchi originates from my grandmother. It pretty much means "stuff” but its the term she used to refer to all the sentimental knickknacks that make a house a home. For me Katchi Vatchi is everything I love and nothing I need. It is the little things that you can do without, but also the things that make living so very lovely. I aim to take the everyday "stuff" all around us and find in it art and beauty.
